WILL YOU LIVE FOREVER?
The short answer to this question is yes! The Bible teaches earthly life is only temporary. After this earthly life is over, eternity begins and you will live somewhere forever. Where you live through all eternity will depend on your answer to the most important question you’ve ever been asked.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH JESUS?
The Bible teaches that all mankind has sinned against a holy God. Since God is holy, this sin separates us from Him and causes us to be condemned by Him. God will send sinners to a place of his wrath (anger) called Hell, a place of punishment, torment, regret, and pain. However, God has provided a way for your sin debt to be erased.
WHO IS JESUS?
God sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth to die and be judged for your sins. Jesus became your substitute when He hung on the cross and experienced God’s wrath and judgement in your place. Jesus literally became the sacrifice for your sin – the only sacrifice that God will accept.
HOW DOES THIS WORK TO SAVE US?
When we realize that our works or goodness cannot save us, and when we place our trust in what Jesus Christ has done in our behalf, our eternal destination changes, and we will live forever with Him in a place called Heaven.
HOW TO KNOW JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOUR
1. Realize that you are a sinner.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
2. Realize that there is a penalty for your sin.
Your sin is an offense and rebellion against God, and He will not allow your sin to come into His presence. “For the wages of sin is death”. Romans 6:23a
3. Realize the hopelessness of your own efforts and works to please God.
God only accepts one way to heaven and that way is through His Son, Jesus Christ.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.
John 14:6 (Words of Jesus)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. Ephesians 2:8,9
4. Repent of your sin.
Repentance is a change of mind that results in a change if direction. Agree with God that you were wrong in sinning and ask Him for His forgiveness; express your willingness to turn from your sin as you turn to Him.
“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”.
Luke 13:3 (Words of Jesus)
Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and the very moment by faith you trust and receive him as God’s only means for salvation, He’ll save you!
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him”. John 3:36
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. Romans 10:13
